Chiropractic is a Form of Alternative Health Care

Chiropractic is a form of alternative health care, that’s not really alternative at all. It is a natural form of healing that heals the body from the inside to the outside. It allows the nervous system to function at it’s most optimal level and allows the body to function at it’s optimal level as well. The nervous system is what controls every cell, muscle and organ in the body. If there is interference in the nervous system flow, there may be a decrease in function in the body. This can result from subluxations in the spine. Chiropractors work to remove these to allow the body to get the proper nervous flow.

Chiropractic may just be considered alternative because it’s so different from traditional medicine. It doesn’t use medicine at all. It allows the body to heal itself. It is used quite often with chronic back or neck pain, back problems and other issues and other skeletal problems. Even painful diseases like fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis can have positive changes from chiropractic care. It is a natural form of pain care. Chiropractic doctors are people who have trained in the form and science of joint manipulation and this allows the body to function at it’s highest state. Because of the fact that chiropractic is a natural form of health care, many people seek chiropractic treatment out. It is important to keep things as natural as possible in a typical day to day life. That is why chiropractors don’t use medicine and allow the body to heal itself.

Chiropractors may also use different forms of therapeutic treatments and modalities. These can include, but aren’t limited to ultrasound, e-stim, and other types of massage. It’s important to people to achieve their highest level of health and chiropractic and chiropractor in Schaumburg can help them achieve this goal. Check it out to learn more.

Alternative Health Products Attacked – The 5 Top Reasons to Support a Charter of Health Freedom

Natural Health Products or NHP, such as vitamins & minerals, herbs, TCM, etc. are being attacked, decimated actually, by unnecessarily regulations arbitrarily imposed by Health Canada via the Natural Health Products Directorate. 20,000 natural products, factually totally safe, can no longer be accessed by Canadians due to arbitrary regulation, not safety laws.

Alternative Health Under Attack

However, unlike the US, Health Canada regards safe nutrients, vitamins, etc as dangerous substances that are better taken off the market. Since 2004, with the Natural Health Product Directorate (NHPD) over 20,000 wellness products have gone missing from Canadian shelves.

These therapeutic substances were not found to be dangerous, no one was injured by these products. The 20,000 NHP (herbs, vitamins, natural food concentrates, etc) were removed for not meeting regulations arbitrarily imposed by the NHPD. In fact: Removal of alternative NHP by the NHPD have made people sicker as natural remedies were actually making them well when they had free access and were benefiting from these therapeutic aids.

Recently, Bill C 51 and C 52 were introduced to Parliament as the ‘revised or new’ Food & Drug Act. These Bills were and are both non-constitutional and violate the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of Canadians — re: illegal search and seizure, non-recourse to fines levied, and essentially violated the Rule of Law as handed down to us over 800 years ago via the Magna Carta.

The resulting uproar from Canadians protesting against C 51 and even C 52 was that two of the major opposition parties, the NDP and The Liberal Party reversed their for positions to against positions on these Bills.

Where we stand now as Canadians: Vulnerable to further degradation of Human Health Care Rights.

Why Support Alternative Health Freedom and Free Access to Health Products?

  1. Natural therapeutic products are regulated by Health Canada, a body that is used to dealing with toxic or dangerous substances – aka ‘drugs’
  2. NHP are very safe and enhance the lives of Canadians who use them
  3. Regulating safe products creates unnecessarily controls and results in banning by over zealous regulatory bodies, such as Health Canada and the NHPD
  4. Putting safe health substances under the control of those who deal with dangerous substances, infers these safe products are now ‘dangerous’
  5. Alternative health freedom implies access to try, experiment and otherwise consume therapeutic products for ones benefit or health

There are many personal reasons for you to support freedom of alternative health movements. One of these may be it’s your livelihood and another is your health may depend on your freedom of access to alternative health care products like my health does.

Please share this article with as many others as you can. Only the truth is strong enough to fight State oppression.

Alternative Health Clinic Information, Advice, and Techniques

Visit an alternative health clinic if you are interested in exploring options that do not fall within the realm of conventional medicine. This alternative health approach to healing is more metaphysical and spiritual, and goes along with the belief that the body is capable of healing itself, and this medicine is just part of the healing process.

Aromatherapy, which dates about 80 years back, is a popular form. This is to apply or inhale essential plant oils. This technique is said to be a growing industry. It brings to mind the scented oils and candles, but modern aromatherapy includes more than those relaxing accessories.

Another alternative health care option the clinic might suggest is the use of herbal supplements as a healing power. Herbs commonly used include aloe vera, chamomile, belladonna, ginkgo biloba, and valerian. Aloe vera can help with burns, such as sunburn and other irritations to the skin. Chamomile is said to be relaxing and can relief ailments such as indigestion and heartburn. Many products are available, as there are A-Z medicine cabinets that are ways of healing that differ from the conventional way.

Some other techniques an alternative health clinic might suggest include deep breathing, magnet therapy, meditation and spirituality. The medicine has gotten both advocacy and skepticism, so talk to a professional and research the product or method in question thoroughly before making the decision. So which option is better, these alternative health style methods or conventional, scientific prices? It all depends on what you want for your body.

Alternative Health Care, Fad or Here to Stay?

Alternative health care is a term that hit the media several years ago. It was originally used to describe treatments, procedures or techniques that were not taught as part of the degree curriculum of medical schools. Some of these include chiropractic care, nutrition, naturopathy, acupuncture or homeopathy.

Alternative health has been making huge gains in public awareness and understanding. In the 1970s the term was used interchangeably with unscientific, unproven, or unsafe techniques. Fortunately that is no longer the case.

These therapies have gained huge advances in acceptance and are included in many health insurance plans today. Many fields are now regulated by state or national licensing agencies. In 2012, it is expected that 7 out of 10 people will consult with the internet about their health concerns before choosing whether to seek professional care. They will also research to diagnose their health conditions before seeking care.

Informed health care consumers make choices and vote with their wallets. In 2007, the National Institute of Health conducted a large scale survey. They asked about spending for Complimentary and Alternative medicine among Americans. The result: 38 percent of respondents said they used complimentary or alternative care that year. The NIH reported that 83 million adults spent $33.9 billion of their own money on these therapies. That translates to over 10% of non-covered health care.

The popularity of complimentary and alternative care is due in part to increased acceptance of these therapies in medical schools and medical practices. Advances in research in the some fields like clinical nutrition, exercise physiology and chiropractic care have helped make this change. A general awareness of self-care through exercise and nutrition has also helped drive this change.

Chiropractic offices are among the most popular access points to alternative therapies. These offices provide doctors trained and licensed to diagnose many health conditions and are versed in many types of alternative therapies. Chiropractic college curriculum is 4 years post graduate study. The course work includes medical diagnosis and imaging in addition to various alternative therapies such as chiropractic care, clinical nutrition and physical therapy modalities and exercise rehabilitation.

Naturopathy is another access point of professional alternative therapies. These doctors have often studied nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture, and medical diagnosis. Other access points include practitioners in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Massage therapists and nutritionists.

Access to information on-line, changes in insurance coverage and scientific research have led to huge changes in the way people view and use their health care dollars. Alternative care is here to stay but it is not a new idea. Thomas Edison is credited with saying, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Nearly 100 years have passed since he said it, but it looks like he was right.

What Is Holistic Chiropractic Health Care?

You may have heard about holistic health care but wondered exactly what that term means. How does it differ from traditional Western medicine? What all does holistic care entail and is it right for you and your family? There are many myths and misconceptions which abound about holistic care and knowing the facts can help you make an informed decision about the health and well-being of your family. Here are the basics to get you started with holistic health care.

An Ancient Form of Medicine

Holistic care has a very long history. Traditional Chinese and Ayruvedic Medicine are just two examples of ancient health care systems which use a holistic approach. In these medical practices the person is treated as a whole in mind, body, and spirit. It is believed that balance between these components is what provides natural well-being and good health. When the body is in balance its natural healing power is released and you can fight off disease and your natural immune systems runs as it should.

Use of healing herbs, tonics, nutrition, and other practices such as massage and acupuncture all aim at restoring and maintaining the body’s natural balance. In Chinese and Ayruvedic Medicine this balance is achieved by aligning the body’s natural energy centers (Chakras) and the natural flow of your body’s energy (Chi) is optimized. This promotes natural healing and well-being. These philosophies have been handed down and practiced for many thousands of years in the Far East and India.

Today’s Holistic Approach to Health Care

In the West more and more people are looking for an alternative to traditional Western medicine. The use of drugs to treat symptoms is falling out of favor and people are looking for ways to restore and maintain good health and well-being without the use of prescriptions drugs. Chiropractic care is one such alternative health care philosophy which has been used for many years by people from all walks of life. Chiropractic care takes a holistic approach to health care by returning balance to your body through manipulations, massage, physical therapy, and nutritional counseling. Other methods may include guided meditation, homeopathic medicine, and Electra Dermal Screening.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care focuses on restoring the body’s natural balance. Spinal manipulations to relieve spinal stress are used to free up the body’s natural healing power. Massage therapy is often used to relieve pain and stress in sore muscles, relieve migraines, and treat neck, spine, and lower back pain. Your chiropractor will treat you as a whole and may counsel you on nutrition and emotional health. Instead of focusing on the symptoms, your chiropractor will try to help pinpoint the underlying cause of many common conditions.

Chiropractic care is effective for people of all ages from newborns to adults. Pediatric chiropractic care may help in the development of your child, and it may help avoid common childhood ailments such as colds, fever, and in some cases may help in the reduction of asthma symptoms. While chiropractic care should not take the place of traditional medicine in the treatment of such conditions as high blood pressure or diabetes, it can be an effective compliment to traditional medical treatment for almost all diseases and conditions.

A chiropractor does not prescribe medication, but they can help you make better lifestyle choices such as maintaining a balanced diet, smoking cessation, and increasing your physical activities. With regular manipulations and chiropractic care you can have a better quality of life, and restore and maintain balance in your mind, body, and spirit.
